John Malcolm (1688-1761) and his wife Margaret Webster

John and Margaret had four children (probably all born in the 1720s):
John Malcolm
George Malcolm
Margaret Wright née Malcolm
Eleanor McNelie née Malcolm
This family is so important to Malcolm researchers because of all the information we get from John 1688’s will. He mentions his wife, sons and two married daughters by name (also a grandson, Wm. Wright). The will was made in 1745 and proven in 1761.
John 1688 may be the son of James Malcolm (1658-1725) and Eleanor Gibson (1660-1725) but we have found no proof of that.
John 1688 may have had siblings who came to America:
Margaret, Eleanor, Lillias, James, and George Malcolm (1680-1755) who had a wife named Lydia. He may have been one of the first people to go west to Tenn. where he died. (This is the 1670-1690 generation)
The 1720s generation includes John 1688’s four children:
John 1722
George 1720
Eleanor McNelie 1720
Margaret Wright 1720
AND several other people all born about 1720-1725:
Alexander Malcolm
Luellen Farris née Malcolm
Susannah Logan née Malcolm
Samatha Malcolm (may be the same person as Susannah or a sister of Susannah and Luellen – Daughters of George Malcolm 1680-1728(?)
Mary McClure née Malcolm
Quintin Malcolm
Next there is the 1740-1760 generation that many of us have traced our Ancestry to:
